Tate's Proxy Statement

As a Sealaska director, I will continue to work hard to help make your corporation more profitable and your board more accountable.

This is an exciting time for Sealaska. Our business operations are profitable. 2017 was a highly successful year financially, given our income from operations, ANCSA Section 7(i) revenue sharing and investments. These profits will enable Sealaska to make even more progress on its commitment to the economic, social and cultural benefit of all our shareholders. Sealaska and its board look much different than it did even a few years ago. Here are some of the reasons why:
  • Investment in profitable seafood processing companies that we can continue to grow;
  • Pursuit of a carbon offset program that will generate profits from our timberlands without harvesting logs; and
  • Reduction in company expenses (including director compensation)
I am proud of my family's roots in Angoon and Ketchikan and support our investment in our villages. I will continue to advocate for increasing our dividends and scholarship and other benefits, and for the passage of legislation for our five landless communities. It has been a great privilege to serve you. I respectfully request your vote.
