Sealaska Candidate Forum Video and Recap
Wednesday, May 19, 2021
Thank you to everyone who tuned in for the candidate forum yesterday.
Unfortunately, the live stream was disrupted by technical difficulties amid a global YouTube outage last night. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. A full recording of the candidate forum and community meetings are now available for viewing on Election Connection.
During the event, endorsed and independent board candidates shared their vision for Sealaska, plans to ensure increased profitability and growth of shareholder dividends, ideas about youth engagement and workforce development, and more. All questions asked of candidates during the live forum were provided by Shareholder Participation Committee members and were not disclosed to candidates in advance.
Shareholders, your voice matters to Sealaska—we received many questions via chat during the live stream, and are committed to providing answers in the coming weeks. If you have additional questions for individual candidates, we encourage you to connect with them directly. For contact information, please see the graphic below.
We encourage you to submit your proxy as soon as possible to ensure that your shares will be voted. For step-by-step voting instructions, please sign on to your MySealaska account to access the ‘Vote Your Proxy’ page on Election Connection.
Each shareholder who votes their proxy by the final deadline, 5 p.m. AKDT on Friday, June 25, 2021, will receive a one-time payment of $50. If you vote your proxy online by 11:59 p.m. AKDT or deliver your paper proxy to the Independent Inspector of Elections at 9309 Glacier Hwy b200, Juneau, AK 99801 by 5 p.m. AKDT on Friday, June 4, 2021, you will be eligible to win early bird cash prizes of up to $5,000.
