Sealaska Awarded Multiple Federal Construction Contracts
Friday, October 12, 2018

Sealaska Constructors was awarded multiple federal construction contracts at the end of September performing installation, design and renovations to government and military facilities across the country.

As the prime contractor, Sealaska will oversee the installation of a renewable energy system at a National Weather Forecast Office (WFO) in Virginia, providing solar energy and “clean” power. The building will be a demonstration site for other National Weather Service regions across the country. This project is part of a 5-year, $12.7 million contract to perform multiple construction and environmental remediation projects for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Western and Southern regions.  NOAA also tasked Sealaska with the design, renovation and update of its forecasting office in Pittsburgh, PA.

At Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, Sealaska will decrease sound transmission, add all new communications cabling and infrastructure, reroute utilities, as well as increase electrical, heating and cooling capacities at the base’s Global Strike Command building. The $1.45 million contract for the Department of Defense is set to complete by March 2019.

Sealaska was also awarded a $4.7 million contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for the design and renovation of three buildings up to current standards at the Tobyhanna Army Depot base in Pennsylvania. Also for the USACE, Sealaska will repair and replace interior and exterior doors of seven buildings at the Yakima Training Center in Washington state.

Sealaska Constructors is part of Sealaska’s government services group, providing building solution leadership in an open culture between clients, subcontractors and the end-user.
