Shareholder Participation Committee Update

Sealaska established three Shareholder Participation Committees in 2019. These committees offer an opportunity for Sealaska to strengthen engagement between Sealaska shareholders and the board, and build relationships between communities and those who serve them. SPC is made up of shareholders representing the interests of three regions — Southeast Alaska, Other Alaska and Outside Alaska.

The film by 'Waats'asdiyei Joe Yates explores the story and impacts of statehood, blood quantum, ANCSA and boarding schools on Alaska’s Indigenous people. 'Waats'asdiyei showcases powerful stories, bringing new voices to this important conversation. He hopes to reframe these issues through an Indigenous lens, supporting the resilience that has defined our Alaska Native people for the 10,000 years.
