Job Title: QEHS Manager - Remote/Virtual

Job Summary:

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager supports the development and implementation of all the health and safety programs across our marine services platforms. Position is responsible for maximizing all employees’ safety at work and the use of proper safeguards, support tendering activities, and supervise all HSE requirements during projects execution.
We are seeking remote/virtual applicants located in the UK and Europe.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Support tendering efforts
• Lead HSEQ activities following projects award and during execution.
• Review project operations to identify hazards and develop safety plans to eliminate or mitigate risks.
• Assist in developing company safety program and periodically reviewing the program to address changes in relevant law and regulation, and to foster continual improvement in EHS processes.
• Perform safety orientations and site inspections to confirm compliance with the safety program.
• Assist operational staff with the creation of task risk assessments.
• Develop procedures for work activities with input from the technical operations team.
• Identify project training needs and oversee training and certification program for personnel.
• Develop and communicate project Emergency Response Plans.
• Research and explain project safety requirements.
• Report safety incidents to management, investigate to identify root causes of incidents and near misses, and take corrective and preventative action as necessary.
• Provide corrective action recommendations to address risk, changing conditions, and promote continuous improvement.
• Monitor environmental, health, and safety metrics and KPIs.
• Oversee and maintain OSHA and other mandatory safety/injury reports.
• Develop processes for, and ensure compliance with ISO Standards 9001, 45001, and 14001.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental, health, and safety trends.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Offshore Energy operations experience preferred.
• Excellent document and spreadsheet creation skills and proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA and other related federal, state, and local EHS regulations, auditing procedures, and environmental compliance
• Familiarity with creating and administering programs to comply with ISO Standards 9001, 45001, and 14001.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement EHS programs
• Broad applied knowledge of principles, concepts, and techniques in the field of health & safety
• Ability to work within established policies and procedures using independent judgment and ingenuity
• Ability to travel overseas on short notice, as needed
• Ability to work across time zones in the United States and Europe
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Education and Experience:

• An undergraduate degree (or Level 6 Diploma) in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or safety-related field preferred
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in an EHS role
• Relevant experience in marine operations
• Experience and skill to conduct research, investigate alternative solutions, and recommend needed change.
• Experience with offshore/onshore workplace safety requirements and safety inspection schedules

Physical Demands:

• This position will require moving of up to 40 lbs.
• This position will be mostly stationary requiring movement around the office, occasional visits to remote job sites, and frequent communication with others.
• The average working hours will be 8 hours per day for this position with occasional need to exceed.
• Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to indoor and outdoor weather conditions and other elements prevalent at the time. Field work often includes uneven and slippery outdoor surfaces.
